I enjoy doing commissions, in which the client is the creative director, and I am the person who is able to bring their unique vision to fruition. This is the second artwork that I've painted for Harry Sheff in the style and with the content of his choice. Following below is the first painting "The Chimp" commissioned by him in 2007.
2007, oil on canvas, 10 x 8 inches
Here is the first artwork I painted for Harry Sheff, in which he wished to be portrayed as a chimp, in a suit with a pipe on a specific red background. Around the painting are my reference materials.

This original painting was commissioned by Carrie Secrist (owner of Carrie Secrist Gallery in Chicago) and her husband Bill Beach. Carrie selected from her life-long collection of personally significant objects and arranged this still life. The overall composition is intended to signify her wedding day; each object and the relationships between them symbolize all of the life events and people that brought her there.

I enjoyed making the Lake Oconee homeowner's idea of a mural into a reality. We worked very closely, back and forth until the design was exactly what she was imagining. It was particularly fun painting all of the different animals.

Erskine is a Boykin Spaniel. The pet owner had two other dogs previously painted by another artist, so I matched the style of those paintings creating a cohesive group.
