Melodie Provenzano's awe-inspiring and ever expanding exhibition Seeing Oneself in Others, orignially featured sculptures by exceptional artists Jae Yong Kim, Matthew McCaslin, Shari Mendelson, Michelle Segre, Arthur Simms, and Jeanne Tremel, and the paintings Provenzano made of those sculptures from direct observation. Music for the exhibition was created by Diane Cluck. The show opened on February 27, 2020 at Nancy Margolis Gallery on 523 W 25th ST in NYC, and quickly closed due to the pandemic outbreak. In 2023, Seeing Oneself in Others II exhibited Sept. 5th - Oct. 2 at The University School of Nashville, featuring the six paintings depicting the professional artists's sculptures from the first show, alongside paintings and drawings Provenzano based on sculptures made by USN students. The student sculptures were also on display, resulting in an eye catching exhibition celebrating the creativity of a diverse group of people.
Melodie continues to add to this incredible collection of paintings and drawings that honors contemporary artists from around the globe, bringing together multiple cultures and artistic expressions in one body of work. The show fascinates and engages those who are fortunate to see in person the exquisite care and meticulous attention to detail that goes into experiencing the variety of sculptures and reflecting them from life onto canvas with paint. In 2025 "Seeing Oneself in Others" will be on exhibit at The Tennessee Valley Museum of Art in Tuscumbia, Alabama, across the street from Ivy Green, the birthplace of Helen Keller.
